A Beginner’s Guide to Wakeman Coffee West End

We’re back from our winter reset after taking a little break at our flagship location in Sidney. I was able to take this time to visit my family in the Saratoga Springs area, attend a football game (go Bills!) and spend some time in New York City with co-owner Jesse, getting inspired by the art, food and coffee culture in the metropolitan area. It was a lovely hiatus after a very exciting season of Wakeman Coffee. Something very significant happened during November of our second year in business that you may or may not be aware of… We opened a second location!

In Oneonta’s West End, we’ve come together with three other businesses– Muddy River Farm Brewery, Ty’s Taco-ria and Tinkertown Provisions– to create one very special collaborative space. If you haven’t yet visited, here’s what you need to know…

Between the hours of 7am and 2pm on any day that the space is open (Thurs. - Mon.), you’ll find Wakeman Coffee serving breakfast, lunch and– of course– a full coffee and espresso menu featuring hot drip coffee, cold brew, hot or iced lattes, cappuccinos, americanos, cortados and more! We also offer a variety of high quality loose leaf teas and matcha from Flying Saucer Tea Station of Sidney, NY.

Something unique about this new location is that we are including a much larger food menu. Wakeman Coffee West End has many choices for both breakfast and lunch. We use locally baked breads for our breakfast and lunch sandwiches along with bagels all the way from Long Island. It’s no secret that we strive to use local products as much as possible to ensure the freshest and most delicious experience for our customers! For example, Clark Farm Creamery out of Delhi, NY is our choice for all of our dairy milk needs, making our beverages extra tasty!

Our most popular breakfast sandwich– also available at our Sidney location– is called the Brie Arson. This sandwich is constructed with a locally baked bread of your choice, two fried eggs, bacon jam, brie, hot honey and arugula. For lunch, we recommend the Always Sunny, which comes on a hoagie roll and features shaved local beef marinated in our coffee with caramelized onions, sauteed peppers and beer cheese crafted with Muddy River’s beer! Another item that we are especially proud of is the Trout Cakes which are hand made with locally sourced smoked trout from Skytop Springs Fish Farm in Sidney Center, NY and served with a house made lemon aioli. If you prefer your trout not be fried, you can also opt for the Upstate Lox: our take on a classic lox bagel, topped with smoked trout instead of the traditional salmon, with cream cheese, capers and red onions, of course. If you decide to get comfortable and stay a while, you may also have the pleasure of enjoying a beer from Muddy River starting at 3pm on weekdays and 12pm on weekends. Ty’s Taco-ria begins serving their delectable tacos at 3pm. Tinkertown Provisions crafts phenomenal hot sauces in the shared space that are available for purchase at all times during opening hours.

Wakeman Coffee West End’s regular hours are Thursday-Monday 7am-2pm. We are located in the West Gate Plaza at 107 Winney Hill Rd #1, Oneonta, NY 13820. 

Wakeman Coffee Sidney’s regular hours are now Friday-Monday 8am-2pm and we are located at 66 East Main Street, Sidney, NY 13838. New menu items are in the works for this space, so be on the lookout!
